Cosmetic Mole Removal
Most moles are harmless. Even so they can be a nuisance or unsightly, especially when appearing on the face, neck and arms. In such cases cosmetic mole removal can take care of the problem quickly and simply. Dr O’Leary will carefully check for any suspicious features with dermascope prior to removal. With our state of the art Ellman Surgitron® radiosurgery we can remove protruding moles with minimal, if any, pain. How? The Ellman Surgitron® uses radio waves to perform the ‘cutting’. Only the precise area of the mole is affected.
A little anaesthetic is injected under the mole to numb the area. The Surgitron® radio waves are then directed to excise precisely the lesion to the level of the skin. The procedure leaves a non-bleeding wound no bigger than the original lesion. After 7-10 days the wound heals to leave a barely visible mark.
